My 1st period DIM/Yearbook class is about to embark on script writing, storyboarding, filming & editing video to create a 30 second commercial selling the 2011-2012 QISD Yearbooks…Check back before the holiday break to view them!
BIM I, 2nd & 8th periods, is just about done with Microsoft Word so we will be moving on to Excel right before the break.
BIM II is finishing up their business plans and we should have them published before the break too!
Accounting I just finished up closing entries and now we are working on reconciling bank statements and the proper way to fill out a deposit slip, check, and check stub!
Lastly, Business Management is continuing their Hot Dogzz business simulation and should be through 6 months of their business. Hopefully we can get through an entire 365 day cycle before the semester ends.

Run Olivia, Run! »« GRADING CHANGE IN MY CLASSES
After careful consideration I have decided to change my grading categories in all of my classes except Accounting. What does this mean? Well, I usually weight items like tests around 45%, daily work 40%, and work habit 15%. I am changing to one category where everything will be worth the same amount with the exception of major tests or projects which will be put in the grade book twice. I have also chosen the option to drop the lowest grade. I believe this change will fit my teaching style and my students’ learning styles better!

Just a quick reminder to students and to let parents know where they can find assignments for my class.
If you will look at the right of the screen there is a box containing links to my pages. These pages contain Google calendars for every class I have. Assignments are posted there. They are not detailed lesson plans, just basic information as to what was done in class each day!
