Because of the Rain and cool temperatures, we are rescheduling the Field Day for Friday, May 18th.
Friday, April 13th, ends the 5th 6 weeks. It has been an amazing year with so many victories along the way. Our students have amazed me in their growth- academically and physically.
Remember this last six weeks to encourage your student to keep working hard, keep trying their best and keep their behavior in order.
Also, keep the students attendance and punctuality seriously. Students are considered tardy after 8:05. Please do your part to assist us in this.
Thank you for all that you have done already. I appreciate the support that you give our students and our school.
I am so proud of all of our students for their hard work. Today, we reached our goal of 20,000 AR points.
Roughly translated, our students passed about 36,400 AR tests in order to reach this goal. This averages out to about 140 tests per student (preK – 5th) and about 80 points per student.
The sky is the limit with our children. Your children constantly outperform our expectations and goals. Thank you for all of the support.
This week, we will finally see what the STAAR Test is going to look like. Our 4th graders will have two days of Writing while our 5th grade will be taking the Math and Reading Assessments.
It is very important that the students be at school on time with a good night’s rest.
There will be no visitors allowed in the building on Tuesday and Wednesday. With so many security restrictions from the State of Texas, it is necessary to comply with their wishes. Thanks for understanding.
I feel very confident in the students that they have been prepared for this much more strenuous assessment. Thank you for your hard work throughout the year. As a Team, we have come a long way.
Attached is a copy of the No Child Left Behind School Report Card.
A Hard Copy of this report is available in the office, upon request.
So much information is put onto our class blogs. One feature that is under-utilized is the comment section of the blogs. Please take the time to visit our blogs and leave feedback. This is a neat way that you can give our teachers praise, suggestions, or even praise the students for their hard work. The feedback is appreciated as we keep pushing forward and doing more and more with our students.
If you have not done so already, visit your student’s classroom blog and leave a note to say you’ve been there. I’ve changed the menu of this blog to have a link to the teacher’s blogs. Hopefully, this will make navigation easier on you.
Thanks.
This week, there is a competition to see which class in each grade level can get the most AR Points. It’s amazing how much the kids have already done and it’s only Monday!
Encourage your child, cheer your child, motivate your child. The more children read, the more they build vocabulary, fluency and comprehension.
Good luck to each class!
