Last week in reading found us learning about how to grow seeds, so on Friday in science, we planted some seeds.
Here is what they looked like today, six days later:

Keep up the studying, first graders! It is paying off. We won our 2nd math facts championship! I am very proud of these students!

We had some visitors in our science class this week. Tanner brought his pets Tortuga, the box turtle, and Camo, the garter snake, to aid in our study of animal characteristics. We loved getting to meet these pets, and we appreciate the things that Tanner taught us about them. Thanks to Mrs. Thompson for helping out and for hosting our science lesson and to Mrs. Freeman for creating the slide show.

Math Fact Champions - 4/20/12
