4th and 5th graders will be taking a couple of their state mandated test on Tuesday and Wednesday, so we are asking that there be no visitors on these two days.  We only want the best for each student so no distractions will help in accomplishing the best for them.  Sorry for the inconvenience it may cause, but our children come first.  Thank you for your cooperation.  Miss Robinson

On February 16th we will start taking a test over the Math definitions in the back of the Motivational Minds workbook.  All students have been told that this will count as a regular test grade and they can start studying now.  This is not a students favorite thing to study so please help to make sure that they are getting as much study time as possible.  I am allowing them to have study time in class as well.  Thanks for this help.  Come to visit us, we would love to have you in class.  Ms. Robinson

Goals Day was a great success, but I did miss seeing those two that could not make it.  We are rescheduling so I will get to see them, so glad for that.  In February we will be having our last or next to last benchmark.  The kids are doing a great job, homework is getting better and better on a daily basis.  Please if there are ever any questions just let me know, I will be glad to help.   Ms. Robinson

Coming this week and next, we will be concentrating on measurement, both customary and metric so if you have any neat little tricks to show your kids about measurement, please do. The next Benchmark will be on December 14th. We will be trying to work fast and furious to push everything we can into those big smart sponges they have in their heads. We truly have an intelligent bunch of kids and no matter what the state throws at us we will give the kids what they need to be a success. They will conquer!

Well our 5th graders took their 2nd benchmark in Math and did a knockout job. I have analysed how they did on the fact that I have now taught them for 2 6-weeks, therefore they should know 50% of what they need for the new STARR test. The test I gave was a 50 question test and was a whole years worth of work. This all means that if your child made a 50 or better then they are at 100% of where they need to be. I hope this is all clear, but if not, please call or come by and I will explain in a greater depth. At this point, 77% got commended on our benchmark, while 95% made at least a 96, 98% made at least a 92. This is a fantastic group and it is my daily pleasure to encounter their growing knowledge. Keep up the great work students and parents, we are traveling at great speeds and winning the race.
