August 22-26 Lesson Plans

August21

Welcome to Travis Junior High! I hope everyone has had an exciting summer and is ready to begin school. You will notice numerous changes once you walk in the front door. We have new carpet in the halls, new paint in most of the rooms and hall, remodeled restrooms, and a remodeled workroom for the teachers. The biggest change you will notice is that we have sixth graders walking in the halls! I am extremely excited adding more students to our school. I challenge all of you to do your best and have an awesome school year.

Reading Class

Monday- All classes need to have parents read and sign parent letter.  Return the letter by Wednesday to receive a “100″ in the grade book.  This is a terrific way to start out a new year!

Tuesday through Thursday-

6th and 7th grade classes will begin units on poetry and taking notes for word study.

8th graders will begin a unit on short stories with a focus this week on myths.  Notes will also be taken for word study.

Friday- All three grades will take a Self-Assessment for Reading.  I hope to be able to send the students to the library today to check out books for our book reports.  Book Report Forms will be handed out to explain the requirements.
