AR Testing

I am so very proud of each of my students.  Each student in my class has over 100 AR Points!  Congratulations!

We will continue to read AR books through Thursday.  I am giving them a choice of 1 or 2 books.  We will not be taking books home on Thursday night.  There will be no tests given after Thursday!

The only EXTRA tests that will be given are to those students that are reading their books independently and taking the tests independently.  I feel this is the fair thing to do.  This is accomplished without any help from an adult, except to put in the title of the books.

I am so excited that they are actually able to do this!  I am encouraging any student that wishes to try independent tests.  There are some that are not quite ready to do this on their own.  Then there are some who are flourishing.  :-)

Keep up the good work!  It takes a village to make an independent reader.  Thank you all so much for your help and support at home.  You make my job a joy!

Field Day!

Tomorrow is field day.   It is always a lot of fun for teachers and students.  We hope you can come and watch the events.  It will probably get started around 9:00.  We will be taking a group picture of all the students before the festivities begin.

Your child’s Field Day shirt will be at school.  We will change into them before we leave for the football field.

Don’t forget your lunch, if you didn’t order one from the cafeteria.

You will be able to take your child home with you after the events, if you choose.

However, you will need to go by the school and pick up your child’s backpack and the special gift they have worked on for Mother’s Day.

There will be no folders or library books for the weekend.

Kinder Reminders

We had an awesome day in Vernon @ the Stephen Fite Concert yesterday!

Our AR Party for reaching over 20,000 AR Points Schoolwide will be on April 27.

Mr. Turner will be cooking hotdogs for all the kids at lunch,  bouncy houses will be enjoyed during our P.E. time, and from what I understand-water balloons at the end of the day.

Keep READING at home.  Our goal is to become more fluent readers.  Practice is the best way to reach our goal.

NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY!
