Objectives: Categorize the different kinds of mutations that can occur in DNA. Compare the effects of different kinds of mutations on cells and organisms.
Lesson: Will cover main concepts on cause and affects of mutations using project share tutorial resource for biology.
Homework: Simple worksheet. Reinforcement and Study Guide for Section 11.3.

Warm up for both days: TAKS practice questions.
Activity: “Inheritance of Sickle Cell Anemia”.
Objectives: To identify and describe how changes in DNA cause mutations. Allowing 2 days for completion of activity. Students who finish early will review human karyotyping using web site resources.
Homework: Study section 11.3 text, notes, and project share tutorials. Test on Friday.
Friday: 02/24/2012
Warm up: Review notes before test.
Test on Section 11.3.
Homework: Look up and add Chapter 12 vocabulary to notes. Read section 12.1 pages 308 to 314.
